Meet our elders

We believe the most biblical form of church governance is to be run by a plurality of elders. These elders/pastors are suitably qualified men who are responsible for the spiritual health of the congregation and how the church is run. Here are our elders.

  • Lawrence Brown

Lawrence is a local man who has lived in the vicinity of Grimsby and Cleethorpes all of his life. He grew up in a non-Christian household but he always had a belief in God. He has worked on Grimsby and Immingham docks for most of his life. He is a married man with 2 children. He looked at the Morman faith as a young man in his search for God but was not impressed. He came to the Christian faith in 2009 and was baptized in 2010. Away from church he loves photography, running, cycling and watching football.

  • James Kurz

James is a local man living in the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area all his life. Growing up in Grimsby like a lot of other people he grew up with, James got involved in alcohol, drugs and violence. Having always had a belief in God, James came to the end of himself and became sick and wary of his sinful lifestyle at the end of 2010. He finally surrendered to God and was baptised in 2012 and is now a committed Christian, Husband, Father, foster Carer and preacher of Gods word. Outside of church James enjoys running, the gym, walking molly his Hungarian Vizsla, camping with the family, marvel movies and Star Wars.

  • Rob Barton

Rob was born into a loving home in York, where faith in Jesus Christ was soon modelled to him. Studying medicine, Rob couldn't accept Darwin's theory of random and mindless evolution, instead learning how we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139). He embraced his career as a GP in Grimsby, while Rob discovered the very real, personal relationship with God that he'd been missing, when he and his wife, Joan were born again on 5' March 1990. He was baptised and now has true peace, while sharing the Good News of the 'astounding riches of God's grace'. Rob helped set up the busy Grimsby branch of Gideon's International, while he also served as a church deacon for 6 years, before helping continue the work planted by Pastor Carl Peet, at Redeemer Grimsby.
